The start of the men’s tennis season has been postponed. The tournament in Washington, scheduled for August 14-21, is cancelled.
Due to the coronavirus, the tournament organization does not yet consider it responsible for playing.
“There are too many unsettled external issues, including international travel restrictions and disturbing new numbers,” said the tournament director.
The Cincinnati Masters and the US Open, later in August, will continue for the time being. Both events are without an audience.
The women’s season starts August 3 in Palermo in Italy.
