Syrian Army Reports Israeli Rocket Attacks. According to the state media, the Syrian army has shot down several Israeli missiles that were fired on an essential military base near the city of Homs, in the centre of Syria.

The official Syrian news agency Sana reported that the missiles targeted the Syrian military airport T4.

Also, soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and their allies, who have been fighting alongside the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since the beginning of the uprising in 2011, are stationed at the base.

Due to the unstable situation in the Syrian border area, the Syrian army recently moved new troops to the Golan Heights.

Israel conquered the Syrian Golan Heights in 1967 and subsequently annexed them.
