Athletes participating in the Olympics this summer will be tested for corona every four to five days. That is stated in an interim report from which Reuters news agency quotes Wednesday.
Athletes travelling to Japan from other countries must also be able to present a negative test on arrival that must be no more than three days old.
The same report states that it is “impractical” to ask visitors to the Games to go into quarantine for two weeks after their arrival.
In the spring, there will be a decision on the number of foreign visitors who are welcome during the Games. These will be held from 23 July to 8 August, with a one-year delay due to the corona pandemic.
