North Korea Wants Global Ban on Nuclear Weapons. North Korea intends to take part in international efforts to ban nuclear weapons. That was what an ambassador of the country told the United Nations Conference on Disarmament in Geneva today.
“The strike of nuclear tests and the subsequent measures are an important step in the process of global disarmament,” said Ambassador Han Tae-Song. “The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will join the international efforts for a total spell of core tests… “
Last month, North Korea announced that it would stop its development of nuclear weapons. Satellite images would show that the dismantling of the atomic test areas is now in full swing, according to an American inspector today, published by iStorify.
Ceremony for closure
The northeastern Punggye-Ri test area will be ceremonially closed between 23 and 25 May, with the international press being invited. There is some doubt about the openness of the ceremony because no specialised supervisors have been encouraged.
