The Russian authorities are ready to consider the treatment of politician and Kremlin critic Aleksej Navalny abroad if desired.
Government spokesman Peskov said he hoped Navalny, who is in a coma, will recover soon. Tests should show whether Navalny has been poisoned as his spokeswoman Kira Jarmish says.
Jarmisj complains on Twitter that the patient’s wife is also not allowed to see him and that information about his health status is withheld in the hospital.
The doctors are forbidden to say anything about the patient, according to Yarmish. She says that Navalny drank a cup of tea before boarding the plane and that it must have been poisoned.
Navalny was on his way from Tomsk to Moscow when he became unwell on the plane.
That made an emergency landing in Omsk almost 750 kilometres to the west for him. Navalny lost consciousness on the plane and was taken to intensive care in the hospital in Omsk.
According to Yarmish, tests have already been done, but a definite answer is not given.
