KLM almost resolved the consequences of the baggage handlers’ strike last Saturday. Most passengers have now received their bags, a spokeswoman said.
However, the airline still has its hands full with the suitcases of people who eventually stopped flying and returned home.
These suitcases all have to be transported to a home address from Schiphol. “That’s still a job,” said the spokeswoman. All suitcases that had to be sent after travellers who flew intercontinental are now on their way. For travellers within Europe, the last remnants are quickly disposed of.
Also, in terms of flights, everything is back in order. A few transfer flights had to be routed via other airports on Tuesday, but that is no longer necessary. There are also hardly any delays on intercontinental flights.
