Israel: Gaza Strip Not Entered With Ground Troops After All

The Israeli army did not enter the Gaza Strip on Thursday evening, a spokesman for the Israeli army said in the night from Thursday to Friday.

The same spokesman had confirmed late on Thursday evening that there was an Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli army, there has been an “internal communication problem”.

The Israeli military reported on Twitter that ground forces with close air support were attacking targets in the Gaza Strip.

Two hours after a spokesman confirmed that Israeli forces had crossed the border into the Gaza Strip, the military issued a “clarification” stating that while Israeli ground and air forces are targeting targets in the Gaza Strip, they have not entered the area.
