Taiwanese tech group Foxconn, which assembles iPhones for Apple, presented the company’s first electric cars at an event. These are concept cars for SUV and sedan models.
Foxconn wants to build the cars for customers instead of selling them as their own brand.
Foxconn is the largest manufacturer of iPhones and is regularly mentioned as a possible partner in constructing and developing an Apple Car.
Apple reportedly wants to bring it to market in 2024 at the earliest, but so far, Apple has not said anything about the mysterious car project. Meanwhile, there are said to have been talks between Apple and other major car manufacturers, such as South Korean Hyundai.
Many tech companies are looking at the auto sector now that the electric car is on the rise. Foxconn bought a car factory in Ohio last year for that reason.
Foxconn is also already working with other car manufacturers to develop cars, such as the American start-up Fisker and Stellantis, the parent company of brands such as Peugeot and Citroën.
