A giant asteroid will skim past our planet on Tuesday, Sky News reported Monday on the authority of the American space agency NASA. There is no danger.

It concerns asteroid 7482 (1994 PCI), which is 1,052 km in size. That is more than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is 830 meters high.

The celestial body races past us at more than 1.9 million kilometres. However, NASA assures that the asteroid poses no threat to our planet.

The asteroid was discovered in 1994. It is well known and has been studied by specialists for years.
