Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan are donating an additional $ 100 million to local governments.
The Donation is to pay for polling station rent, personal corona protective equipment for employees and administrative costs around the coming weeks’ elections.
The duo announced the donation Tuesday, The Washington Post reported.
The donation follows an earlier $ 300 million donation to state and local governments to help fund the US elections.
The donations are under fire due to a lawsuit filed by a conservative legal group. It tries to block the use of private funds for state and local administration for the elections. Such expenses are usually funded by governments.
But Zuckerberg is unimpressed by legal threats. He argues that his decision to fund election administration has no partisan political motive.
