Capitol Storming Investigation Committee Interrogates First People Involved

The committee set up by the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate the January 2020 storming of the Capitol is questioning those involved for the first time on Tuesday.

The committee has law enforcement officers analyze the storming.

Supporters of former President Donald Trump raided the House of Representatives on January 6. The crowd spoke of electoral fraud and wanted to prevent parliament from confirming the election results. Five people were killed in the storming.

Multiple committees of the House and Senate, the other chamber of parliament, investigated intelligence and security deficiencies on January 6.

The investigative committee hearing those involved Tuesday was set up by the House following Republicans’ attempts to conduct an independent investigation into the riots in and around the Capitol.
