Boris Johnson: Brexit Deal to be Put before Parliament on Friday. The British government will present to Parliament on Friday the legislation necessary for the British departure from the European Union.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesperson says it is turning the agreements made with the EU into UK law.
The legislation must go through several stages in parliament before it is finally approved. “We want to start the process before Christmas,” said the spokesperson.
The government wants the United Kingdom to leave the European Union next month. The Brexit deadline expires in 46 days on 31 January.
The Conservative Party of Johnson won a vast majority in last week’s national elections. As a result, support from other parties is no longer needed in the Lower House.
Johnson had a weak position there before the elections because his Conservatives did not yet have a majority.
