US President Biden is on a visit to Europe to announce a corona vaccination plan for the world. He said this shortly before his departure for a week to the European continent.
It is his first foreign trip as president. His wife, Jill, flies along.
At the start of their trip, the President and First Lady visit American soldiers stationed in Suffolk, Britain. Biden will also meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson near Cornwall on Thursday.
The summit of seven leading industrial states (G7) will take place there from Friday to Sunday. At the end of their visit to Great Britain, the American president and first lady will be received by Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday at Windsor Castle near London.
On Monday, Biden will attend the NATO summit in Brussels, where a meeting with European Union leaders is scheduled the following day. Biden’s much-anticipated summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to take place in Geneva next Wednesday.
After that, the American president returns to Washington.
